Sticks and Stones

Sticks & Stones takes an entirely new approach to engaging and supporting young people at risk of victimisation and homophobic bullying. In a rural area, young people can still feel very isolated, and this Camelot Foundation media project aims to give voice to their experiences of homophobia.

Utilising the latest social networking software and the internet, the project is enabling young people aged 16-25 years, from across the UK to connect with TV professionals and celebrities from the arts and media and to generate new ideas and scripts for 4 short films.

The film shoot will take place in May and the project is currently recruiting a group of young people to take part. Once they are completed, educational resources will accompany the films on DVD, and be distributed to youth work professionals and schools.

The films will also be exchanged amongst young people via websites such as U-Tube and Facebook, e-mail, video i-pods and mobile phones.
