Screen WM announces new Education, Archive and Audience Development department

Screen WM, the West Midlands' regional screen agency, has announced the creation of a new department to focus on Education, Archive and Audience Development. The department has been created in response to major national initiatives, and will replace the current Regional Partnerships department at Screen WM.

Suzie Norton, CEO of Screen WM said: "Significan developments are taking place at a national level surrounding education and archive, and I want to ensure that Screen WM is in the best possible position to deliver these changes.

Our new Education, Archive and Audience Development department will play a key role in delivering Screen WM's new 2008-2011 business plan, and we will be strengthening the team with a number of new posts."

In addition to a Head of Department post, Screen WM will create a new role of Education, Archive and Audience Development Officer, which will replace the current Regional Coordinator position. This more senior post will continue to run support services for exhibitors through the Regional Exhibition Forum, but will also provide the link to new opportunities around education and archive.

Screen WM's Head of Regional Partnerships, Steve Chapman, will support the implementation of these changes, but has taken the decision to leave the agency to pursue other career options. He will continue to provide Screen WM with assessment advice on a consultancy basis.

Steve said: "I have had a fantastic time at Screen WM, helping to set up the agency and seeing it through its formative years. Now that it is entering a new phase of development, it is a timely opportunity for me to leave Screen WM and pursue other opportunities. I am very much looking forward to continuing to support the agency with assessment advice and would like to give my sincere thanks to my colleagues and the Board at Screen WM for their support."
