Win 6 webcams and a software site license from Kudlian Soft!

Curtis Jobling of 'Bob the Builder' and creator of the CBBC animation 'Frankenstein's Cat', has teamed up with Film Street and independent educational software developer Kudlian Soft challenge primary schools and young people aged 12 and under to design a character to for an animated, claymation film. The creators of the best designs will win webcams and software to turn their 3D characters into the stars of their very own mini movies!

Animate IT! Competition details

Children under twelve are invited to design a 3D character that they want to animate in a short stop frame animation film. Entries can be drawings or a photo of a finished 3D movie star! Children can enter in the individual category or teachers can run the competition in their schools.

Prizes

The best designs of 3D characters in the Schools category will win 6 iMage webcams and either a site license for ‘I Can Animate' software for Mac computers or ‘Stop Motion Pro Educational' for PCs.

Films made by the competition winners featuring their winning 3D characters will be shown in  Film Street's Cinema and Kudlian Soft's website.

3D characters

Character should be designed so that can be made out of a material like plasticine with some parts that can be easily moved for animation.

The characters can be a human, an animal or an object and must be interesting enough to star of in a film! Characters must be completely new and original and the children entering them should have some ideas for a storyline about their character for a film.

Judges

The winning characters will be selected by a panel of judges made up of representatives from Film Street and Kudlian Soft, alongside Curtis Jobling.


How to enter:

You can send entries from the children in your school via email or by post.

Email: Digital photos of  the 3D characters or a scanned image of a drawn designs can be emailed to : info@filmstreet.co.uk .

Please ensure each entry is labelled with each child's first name and age. Please also enclose a completed Animate IT entry form which can be accessed as a Word doc or as an Adobe pdf on the Film Street website.
