Final Mid Mediabox deadline coming up

Mediabox, the £6 million government scheme to fund young people's media projects has its final application deadline for Mid Mediabox funding next month. The scheme accepts applications for media projects for disadvantaged young people aged 13-19 of up to £20,000.

The project is currently a one-year pilot and is awaiting news on whether it will be awarded continuation funding. It offers 3 grant schemes;

  • Big Mediabox, which has now closed ot applications and made awards of up to £80,000.
  • Mid Mediabox, which has its final deadline on 20th November and will accept applications from organisations for up to 20,000.
  • My Mediabox, which accepts applications direct from young people for up to £1,000 to make their own projects. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until January 2008.

All projects funded through Mediabox must be complete by March 2008. Government ministers have commented favourably about the scheme but are awaiting evaluative evidence before deciding its future.
