ALISS seeks new creative apprentices

ALISS, the West Midlands' Artist and Information Learning support service is looking for practitioners who are interested in working with schools for their Creative Apprentices training programme.

The programme is open to practitioners at an early stage of their career who would like to develop their skills and experience and more experienced practitioners who wish to develop their expertise in a specialised education setting. It provides:

  • Training led by artists and teachers on planning, leading and evaluating a creative learning project
  • Developing expertise in partnership working and creativity in learning
  • Opportunities to observe experienced teachers and artists at work
  • An opportunity to lead a school based project with a group of pupils
  • Support from teachers
  • Peer support and access to professional networks

Timescale: You will need to be available for 8 days in total between October 2007 - May 2008; 4 training/evaluation days and a minimum of 4 days in school.

Training is free by apprentices will be expected to cover travel and subsistence costs.
