Oska Bright Film Festival invites submissionsOska Bright, the first national film festival anywhere in the world run by, and for, people with a learning disability, is now accepting submissions for its next festival. The 3rd national festival of short films made by people with learning disabilities will take place in Brighton on 15th and 16th October 2007, even bigger and better than before, with two days of screenings, masterclasses, and even an awards ceremony. A unique aspect of the Oska Bright Festival is that it is organised by a team of six learning disabled artists, with subbort from Brighton-Based learning disability arts organisation Carousel and community filmmakers Junk TV. The festival is looking for films made by learning disabled people. Films must be no longer than 10 minutes, and prizes will be awarded in various categories for the best films, which will include filmmaking bursaries with partner production company Junk TV. The deadline for submission of completed films is 31st May 2007. Last year the festvial was very oversubscribed so the organisers recommend submitting films early to stand a good chance of inclusion.
