Local Shorts Film Club

Local Shorts is a new monthly Film Club, showcasing films from Birmingham and the West-Midlands, covering all genres of filmmaking: Drama, Documentary, Pop Videos, Animation, Artists' Video, Commercial, etc. Creative Insight are looking to show short films by local filmmakers whether they are established professionals or aspiring newcomers (political, experimental and student entries welcome).

This is an informal night which showcases films from Birmingham and the West Midlands. The Film Club is an opportunity for anybody involved in the creative industry of moving image/filmmaking to get your work shown or showcased on a big screen. Their definition of 'Local Shorts' is very broad, covering all genres from arty to commercial, with the aim to stimulate and encourage an exchange of ideas.

Creative Insight wants to encourage interaction and discussion between writers, composers, animators, producers, artists and Film makers, to create collaborative opportunities. To this end there is an open-house, open policy, open mic - open to you to get involved; opportunities to promote and discuss your work in a friendly, informal atmosphere, and a supermarket-style index card board for promoting your services or needs. They also welcome any publicity material and flyers regarding your work and events to be distributed on the night.

Whether you make films or are just interested in watching them it's a genuine opportunity to show & share work and debate local short films from our region with an audience of filmmakers and short film lovers.

Upcoming dates are:
14th of February (Valentine's special)
14th of March
11th of April
